Running FinkCommander, I get the failed notice:

The following package will be installed or updated:
 python24
The following 2 additional packages will be installed:
 python24-shlibs python24-socket
Do you want to continue? [Y/n]
Failed: This package must be compiled with GCC 4.0.0, but you currently have
GCC 4.0.1 selected.  To correct this problem, run the command:

    sudo gcc_select 4.0

(You may need to install a more recent version of the Developer Tools to be
able to do so.)

So, I run the sudo gcc_select 4.0 and receive this:

You are already using gcc version 4.0 as the default compiler.

Well, thinks I, how about this:

sudo gcc_select 4.0.0

Nope, I get this:

The following is missing from your gcc 4.0.0 compiler installation.
Reinstall the 4.0.0 compiler, or use another release.
  /usr/bin/gcc-4.0.0
  /usr/bin/g++-4.0.0
  /usr/include/gcc/darwin/4.0.0/stdint.h
  /usr/include/gcc/darwin/4.0.0/

I downloaded XCoce2.4 no more than four days ago. I can't believe this isn't the most recent version of gcc (in fact it seems to be too recent)

Suggestions welcomed.
