Random samples are not useful here. Configure runs lots of little tasks 
that fail; that's how it determines that something is not present or not 
usable.

You need to look specifically for a line where it says

> checking for OpenSSL... 

and then what comes after this, because this is what make configure conclude

> Could not find an installation of OpenSSL
