The system mounts them as it would when you aren't running KDE, so you can 
access removable drives via their ordinary mount point 
(file:///Volumes/<DISKNAME>) even though they don't show up in the "media" 
section.

It could be that that part of KDE was so Linux-specific that the maintainer 
didn't implement it--I'm not sure, though.
