To be honest, fink doesn't (and I don't think ever has) prided or
promoted itself as having a good GUI front end. Power/featureful and
decent control/interaction yes, but not "pretty GUI". Fink comes with
a bunch of primary tools that do everything, but they're all CLI.
Well documented, help-screen-ful, and rational, but still CLI.

ObjC for the GUI, which also has a perl component in order to interact
with fink itself (which is all perl), and I think it also spawns some
command-line tools. It's at finkcommander.sf.net, source is available
via anon CVS there.

Yeah, I think we've strayed a *bit* beyond beginners level stuff
here:) fink-devel seems reasonable. Also the #fink IRC channel on
freenode usually has some of the key fink developers.
