Probably an easy problem for those who already have it...

I got: standard osx server 10.3.9 (with apache1 and php4 - without
the "-- with gd" kompilation command at apple's compilation-time)

installed: binaries into /sw-folder with fink (like imagemagick, gd,
etc)

but the php-module (in apache) doesn't "connect" to the installed
binaries. When a web-page calls for GD, php says it's not there.

You might have heard this before, but the only answers i have seen
after scouring the list archive, have to do with (re-)installing a
new PHP from source, and then "./configure" it "--with gd", etc.

Is that the *only* way to enable PHP to "see" and "connect" to the
fink-installed binaries ???
If NOT, how in the world do i tell the present PHP to look over in /
sw for stuff like GD ???

Much obliged if this gets an answer...
