The big problem is with crosstalk between the two: having Fink packages link to MacPorts libraries or vice versa. It's not a "dependency" per se, since the two systems track packages separately. You probably don't need to remove MacPorts; you can temporarily rename its directory when you build with Fink, and rename Fink's when you build with MacPorts. -- Alexander K.
