My Macbook has 1 GB of memory but the pageouts (call on virtual memory) really seem to climb when I do a large compile in fink. Would going up to 2 GB make for a meaningful increase in performance?
Also, if I decide to go for the next version of OS X when it becomes available, would the upgrade allow my existing fink installs to work, or would I have to recompile all of them? Thanks in advance. -- I can answer any question. "I don't know" is an answer. "I don't know yet" is a better answer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Earn Cash.
