You _cannot_ install dev-tools via Fink, as the message above says. Nor does it matter if you have fink's gcc4.0 and make packages installed. You _must_ install packages from the Xcode Tools--specifically all of the SDK packages except for the X11 SDK, as well as the gcc4 (and gcc3.3. if you aren't on Intel--you didn't provide this piece of information) compilers. -- Alexander K.
