AIUI that's the "binary" installer, which I guess will be my fallback option if I'm unable to install the Source Release. I'm thinking my next steps will be to try to read bootstrap.sh and bootstrap.pl, and page through their output, to try to see where the install is failing, so I can maybe fix it, or at least ask a more specific question either here or on the fink-users mailing list.
