Hello!
I got this support request for the Singular package.

Apparently fink fails, while doing
fink selfupdate.

Could somebody please help?
Best regards,

Dear Dr. Brickenstein !

Thank you very much for taking time answering my previous email:

I have downloaded the fink version for MacOSX 10.3. and typed

fink selfupdate
fink install singular

and it ended with the following error message:

Dear Dr. Mullhaupt!

Singular is supposed to work on Mac OS X 10.3 using fink (I asked a colleague with this version).

So could you please give us the
detailed error message
and attach your
/sw/etc/fink.conf

Thanks for your interest at Singular.

fink install singular

it goes ok until the tree building.

I have only Xcode version 1.5 and I tried the update patch
but it requires Xcode 2.3 or higher.

Prior to this I tried to install it from the CD version in the book
"Intro to Com. Algebra", but it does not work; it fails to find symbols such as _tgoto. I cannot find the installation files of this version (book version)
 on the web either.

Hope you can help me out.
