I installed imagemagick-dev in order to run some old crappy software I wrote years ago, that uses Magick++ to load and write images. It compiles, but when it runs, the open routine produces an exception "ImageMagick: UnableToOpenConfigureFile". Google tells me this means that ImageMagick is unable to find its 'configure.xml' and other files, that are installed in /sw/lib/ImageMagick-6.1.8/config/ I thought installing the full imagemagick package would help, but it seems to want to install half a Gnome installation for some reason, and I'd rather not. So two questions: 1. Is there a lightweight version of imagemagick, that contains the 'convert' command with only the most basic image formats supported? 2. Is there a way to get rid of this error without installing imagemagick? Where does libMagick* expect the configure files to be?
