As I wrote last week on fink-users on the same subject:

There is a g77 package on the Fink submission tracker
<http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1809054&group_id=17203&atid=414256>
You can try it out. If it works for you, this would be an additional
argument in favor of its acceptance into Fink.

Just copy the two files from that tracker item into your
/sw/fink/dists/local/main/finkinfo/ directory (create it if it doesn't
exist) and run "fink install g77".

P.S. If I get a free minute with net access, I will push this into Fink. 
We'll never know if there are serious problems left if we leave it on 
the tracker; and the need for it seems to exist.
