Some historical remarks: There has been a Fink package for FinkCommander
for almost as long as FinkCommander exists. It was only never accepted
into the main Fink distribution. For the reasons you can look at the
archives of the fink-devel list ca April 2002, and also the discussion
on the package submission tracker item#543612 from that time.

Basically, the Fink project leader of that time strongly hated the idea
of Fink packages installing an app bundle, and he absolutely refused to
let a FinkCommander package get into the Fink distribution. I thought at
that time and still think that this was a big mistake.

I am keeping such a package in my experimental directory on the CVS
server. It builds FinkCommander-0.5.4 with an additional patch to
distinguish between positive and negative feedback.
