I'm having some trouble building octave from the bleed-edge sources.
The resulting "bus error" leaves gdb essentially useless (it is unable
to determine where the crash occurs).
In any event, it occurred to me that I may be having problems with the
tool chain. I'm building on Leopard and am using a slightly modified
octave.info.
Regarding the installed packages below ...
$ fink list ctools
Information about 6519 packages read in 0 seconds.
i cctools 667-1 [virtual package
representing the developer tools]
*i* cctools-extra 1:590.18-1002 Extra software from
cctools
i cctools-single-module 667-1 [virtual package,
your dev tools support -single_module]
*i* odcctools590 20060608-1 Darwin cctools build
system/code base to support g95
What does "*i*" mean? ... and might it be a problem?
Thanks
Ben
