Since you're using Mac OS X 10.5, you have to install fink by "bootstrapping from source." Did you do that? (I suspect that you used the binary installer instead.)

If you've bootstrapped from source, and opened a new Terminal window after bootstrapping, then the command "fink selfupdate" followed by "fink install xfig" should work for you.

Thanks. But I have already partially resolved the problem (I think). I removed /sw and then reinstalled fink. The problem now is that I installed xfig using the old fink (ppc), and I get an error message when I try to install xfig by hand. (The new fink doesn't list it, which is perhaps a good sign.) I get the following error message:

bandi:xfig.3.2.5 jabondy$ make

This really looks like trouble! I would like to uninstall xfig, but have no idea how.

Adrian.

No, I downloaded fink directly from the website
http://www.finkproject.org/download/overview.php

Adrian Bondy.

P.S. I tried a second time, but it wanted to create /sw2 and put the files in that directory, so I aborted the download.

Did you copy a fink installation from a ppc machine to an intel machine? That doesn't work -- you need to rebuild everything in fink on the intel machine.

Hi,

When I try to run xfig, I get the following error message:

dyld: Library not loaded: /sw/lib/libjpeg.62.dylib
Referenced from: /sw/bin/xfig
Reason: no suitable image found. Did find:
        /sw/lib/libjpeg.62.dylib: mach-o, but wrong architecture
Trace/BPT trap

The architecture is ppc:

Non-fat file: /sw/lib/libjpeg.62.dylib is architecture: ppc

Is there a way around this problem?
