Fink has been on the system for a few years now,, not used very often, I
think it was originally to update Ghostscript and GIMP, but time causes my
memory to fail me.
The 0.9.0 was an update yesterday, so maybe a fresh install might not work
as you infer, but the update did.
I found the source I was looking for and I guess the Provided represent a
lot of stuff built in by Apple.
