Hello,
I'm trying to install Kile on Mac OS X 10.5.4. I successfully
installed Fink,
XCode 3.1, and upgraded X11 to 2.1.4. I was able to run selfupdate
to update
the package list (no errors encountered), but when trying to install
any
packages that depend on x11 or x11-dev, I get the following kinds of
errors:
Can't resolve dependency "x11-dev" for package "kdebase3-
unified-3.5.9-1" (no
matching packages/versions found)
Can't resolve dependency "x11" for package "kile-2.0.1-1002" (no
matching
packages/versions found)
It's as though Fink is not seeing X11, or maybe my X11 installation
is bad, or
something else. I found related threads in this mailing list, but
they were
ultimately inadequate for solving my problem.
Thanks,
Ryan
Run "fink-virtual-pkgs --debug" to see what's going on. I suspect you
have some files missing in your X11 installation, which has been known
to happen, and that among these happen to be ones that fink uses to
generate its x11 and x11-dev virtual packages.-------------------------------------------------------------------------
