It failed for me on 10.4/ppc (apple's x11) also. I just committed
1.3.8-3, which "builds for me". Would be good to test-build it on
10.5/ppc and especially on 10.[45]/i386...it appears to have some asm,
so different CPU may require more work by someone with access to those
machines.
