Hi,

I am trying to get Fink installed in a Leopard system. I am behind a
firewall. I have access only to http, with a proxy. ftp is not at all
available. I am trying to use the cvs version. Possibly because ftp
option is not available, many fink commands time out. Is there a solution
to this? Thanks.

Kannan

If you've done "fink configure" and made sure to set all of the proxy options there, that's a start.

I don't know if the cvs-proxy package actually works at all on Leopard, though.

I believe the binary distribution may be your best bet, since that works via http. Try using "apt-get install" to acquire some packages, and if that works, then I can give you the address of an unofficial binary distribution which has packages that didn't make it into the official one.
