-I have a PowerBookG4 running MacOSX10.4.11 (Tiger) with Xcode2.5 installed.
-From the fink download page, I chose v0.8, the choice indicated for Tiger
users.
-I am trying to install the most recent suite of scientific python tools.
-Before using fink to download packages, I ran, under the Source menu,
Self-update, then Update-all, then Scanpackages, then Index.
-python25 and ipython-py25 downloaded without a hitch.
But when I download scipy-py25, it takes about eight hours, mostly trying to
compile gcc43, and then fails.
Am I missing something simple? Is gcc43 incompatible with Tiger or with
Xcode 2.5?
Thanks,
Andrew
