Do you mean, is someone packaging up FinkCommander to be installed with 
, is someone creating a new GUI for Fink? FinkCommander is already 
distributed with the Fink binary installer, so I don't see much need to 
add it as a Fink package per se.

If you're looking for a different front end to Fink, try Phynchronicity 
(http://www.codebykevin.com/phynchronicity.html). It's not FOSS, but it 
is more up-to-date than FC, and does some things a little differently.
