That actually confirms nothing.  That's your system's built-in  
enscript, and you'll see that regardless of whether Fink's actually  
installed something.

Try

type -a enscript

instead to verify that the Fink package installed an "enscript" binary  
in your path.

I don't have access to my printer right now, but when I tested this  
remotely the file appeared indeed to have been sent to the default  
printer.
