What is the configuration of your machine? Intel Mac running what OS
version and what version of Xcode? Have do done anything funky with the
compiler?

I have an iMac wtih a 2.4 Ghz intel Core 2 Duo and 1GB of RAM. I'm running
OS X 10.4.11
I have installed X Code version 2.4.1.
The following is the output from gcc -v
