Hello,
I have run into a problem installing tetex (which I need to run TeXmacs). I
have checked the archives
and found a thread (initiated by Todd Krause) that described a situation
similar to mine, but unfortunately
what worked for him has not worked for me.
Briefly, here is the problem:
When I try to install tetex-base I get the following error messages.
... /sw/bin/dpkg: error processing tetex-base (--install):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
tetex-base
### execution of /sw/bin/dpkg-lockwait failed, exit code 1
Failed: can't install package tetex-base-3.0-1005
The first two lines of output for fink --version are
Package manager version: 0.27.16
Distribution version: 0.9.0.2 powerpc.
My computer is a PowerPC G4 running Mac OS X 10.5.7.
As suggested by Alex Hansen in the thread that I referred to earlier, I ran
fink selfupdate
fink selfupdate-rsync
fink index -f
fink selfupdate,
followed by a further attempt to install tetex-base, to no avail.
Any suggestions on what I should be doing here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Suren Fernando (fink newbie)
