Hi Holger I have tried the command below - it worked until the last command, where i got the message
E: Couldn't find package sbcl Subsequently to trying to install latex (tetex) on my Mac. I tried installing gimp, and again I got the same error tetex-related error message /sw/bin/dpkg: error processing tetex-base (--configure): subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of tetex: tetex depends on tetex-base (= 3.0-1001); however: Package tetex-base is not configured yet. /sw/bin/dpkg: error processing tetex (--configure): dependency problems - leaving unconfigured Errors were encountered while processing: tetex-base tetex E: Sub-process /sw/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) This seem very similar to this other guy writing on this email-group who tried to install a video game and got an error message about tetex-base not being able to be processed. Any help on this would greatly appreciated. I was told Fink isn't sure how to install the above packages safely. You may be able to fix things by running: fink scanpackages sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install sbcl=1.0.29-1 The result of these steps was that the packages maxima wxmaxima-mac xmaxima were removed. Since this problem keeps appearing, is there any chance to fix these inconsistencies generally? I really need wxmaxima and would be happy if I could avoid regular reinstallation procedure.
