There can be only one version of autoconf installed at any given time
(that's called a conflict in Fink and Debian parlance) because these
different versions install some files with same name and location.
Usually Fink is able to switch to the appropriate autoconf version,
i.e., remove the other one and install the one that's needed, but when
the list of packages and dependencies in a single installation/update
is complex enough then Fink isn't able to determine a valid
installation/update sequence.

In general, this problem is solved by installing fewer packages
(including dependencies) in a single installation command. If you're
running fink update-all, try breaking the list of packages to be
updated into multiple updates with smaller lists of packages -- use
the fink update command for that. If you're installing one single
package that pulls a long list of dependencies, try installing the
dependencies first.

Cheers,
