Fink Commander runs the fink command line app, so this is the expected
behavior.

It's in the FAQ.

        sudo dpkg -r --force-depends perl588-core

and then you should be able to do the update-all.  The dependency graph
is confused.  By removing the package that is causing trouble, the graph
gets recomputed.
