There is currently only one unofficial binary distribution for 10.6
(well, one for 10.6/64bit and one for 10.6/32bit):

and you'd need to add that manually in sources.list.  (this distribution
also has only a selection of the available packages)

"fink configure" won't touch that provided that you put it at the start
or the end of the file, as indicated. (if you put it elsewhere, then
fink may delete the line you add).
