Hello, Franz.

/usr is a system directory on Unix, Mac OS X included. When you
install Mac OS X, it creates /usr.

Fink, on the other hand, installs its files under the directory that
the user chose during installation. It defaults to /sw.

Fink's fpc package, like other Fink packages, installs its files under
the directory where Fink was installed (e.g. /sw).

/ is your Volume HD. It contains both /usr and /sw (usually).
