I get a different usage message from gnome-doc-tool:

$ gnome-doc-tool
Usage: gnome-doc-tool <COMMAND> [OPTIONS] FILE
Process a documentation file.

COMMAND is one of:
  html convert the document to HTML
  xhtml convert the document to XHTML
  help display this help and exit

$ gnome-doc-tool --version
gnome-doc-html (gnome-doc-utils) 0.18.1

What version of gnome-doc-utils do you have? Did you enable the whole
unstable tree or just try to do geeqie against stable tree dependencies?
