Did you run a selfupdate with either rsync or cvs updating?  Just
running a "point" selfupdate doesn't do anything substantive on 10.6,
because that only moves you to the next binary release, and there isn't
one for that platform.

You can check what form of selfupdate you used e.g. via

grep SelfUpdateMethod /sw/etc/fink.conf

If that says "point", then use either "fink selfupdate-rsync" or "fink
selfupdate-cvs" to turn on rsync or cvs updating, respectively.
Afterward you can just use "fink selfupdate" unless you want to switch
methods.

If it says something else then we'll need to investigate further.

One word of warning:  there are currently some issues with the KDE3
packages, so you may encounter some problems getting to quanta.

(KDE4 works, but we don't have a quqnta for that)
