You provided no information about your system, so it's impossible to know why your Fink installation can't find g77. As that table explains, it could be because you're running Fink on 10.6 in 64bit mode, or because you're only using the stable tree, or any of many other reasons. Run fink -V | head -n 2 grep Trees /sw/etc/fink.conf in Terminal. If the output says that your distribution has g77 but only in the unstable tree (say 10.5/i386) , follow the directions here <http://www.finkproject.org/faq/usage-fink.php?phpLang=en#unstable>.
