Was this system upgraded from an earlier OS version, such as 10.5?
Apple got rid of all of their .la files for 10.6, so normally we only
see such errors on upgraded systems, and for people using the stable
tree (the fix in unstable hasn't moved over yet).
Running
/sw/lib -name *.la -delete
should clear references to such files from your Fink tree.
