Don't bother reporting errors if you can't remember the exact message,
since we won't know what needs to be fixed.  (in this case, nothing)

Reinstalling Fink almost never fixes problems, because Fink works
deterministically.  You tend to get to exactly the same place that you
were before.

I  don't reproduce your issue on 10.6/32-bit or 10.6/64-bit.

The error message looks like it's X11-related.  Have you tried
restarting X11?  My recollection is that I've seen similar errors when
changing display sizes (actually, changing between display devices) with
X11 running, and then starting a program that uses X11.
