As you say, I can't fix it right now. But if you are willing to edit the
freefem++.info file, you can add the following line to the PatchScript,
which will make the build go through:
/usr/bin/sed -i"" -e '1s,.*,\\usepackage{ifpdf},;2,12d' DOC/styles.sty
