Dr H:

Well, OK, on the FF version, that's what you said before about it. I have
Tenfourfox installed already, not by fink, so we'll see if that will
continue to be supported in the future, I've started to use it. But, I took
David's advice and ran "fink install firefox" in a Terminal window and it
downloaded some version of FF plus 99 dependencies and when I left it had
been installiing for about an hour and might still be installing when I get
home 4 hours later . . . . And, then we'll see which version it installed.
But, I'm starting to see what fink is actually doing and see that in
Terminal it's possible to have fink install from source code without me
knowing what I'm doing--it's just the time factor and the 800MHz processor
is more or less maxed while that process is going on--I can't ask it to do
much else while the fink install is going on. So, anyway, I'm away from the
unit that is loading fink FF, but the next thing is as newer versions of FF
become available FF would be updated in the "rsync" command? Or to launch
this fink installed version of FF I just type "firefox" in a Terminal or X11
window? Otherwise, thanks for the replies and I'll be spending my time
reading the Guide.
