Hi group - checking in with an install problem for ppl-shlibs on a new Core i5 MacBookPro running OS X 10.6.7, with fink 0.29.21 onboard, having run a 'fink selfupdate' with no updates to add.
Installing HDF via fink requires the ppl and ppl-shlibs package - looks like the ppl-shlibs package dies post-compilation on a mv command - here's the relevant bits /bin/mv /sw/src/fink.build/root-ppl-0.10.2-8/sw/lib/ppl /sw/src/fink.build/root-ppl-shlibs-0.10.2-8/sw/lib/ mv: rename /sw/src/fink.build/root-ppl-0.10.2-8/sw/lib/ppl to /sw/src/fink.build/root-ppl-shlibs-0.10.2-8/sw/lib/ppl: No such file or directory ### execution of /bin/mv failed, exit code 1 Removing runtime build-lock... Removing build-lock package... /sw/bin/dpkg-lockwait -r fink-buildlock-ppl-0.10.2-8 (Reading database ... 6578 files and directories currently installed.) Removing fink-buildlock-ppl-0.10.2-8 ... Failed: phase installing: ppl-shlibs-0.10.2-8 failed Installing just the ppl-shlibs package puts out the same error, and sure enough, there is no 'ppl' subdirectory in /sw/src/fink.build/root-ppl-0.10.2-8/sw/lib/ to move. I did a bit of googling on the problem, and a couple of cases of this popped up in April and May of this year, but couldn't find any solutions. Has any progress been made on this front, and/or is it possible to install HDF without the PPL library? I don't recall any of the linux machines I use requiring ppl or ppl-shlibs for HDF, but I could be wrong.
