I tried patching out the use of -commons, but came up with a different
error on this version:

/usr/bin/ld: can't locate file for: -lutil
And, indeed, there is no libutil.dylib on 10.4; it first showed up on
10.5.
I get the same error with gildas-gildas-201012-3 after removing
references to -commons.
I'm not sure whether libutil is necessary or not, since it appears to be
related to developement for iPhones.
