Yes, the 10.7 distribution was a clean break from previous Fink 
distributions and we're slowly moving packages to 10.7 as we test them 
and know they work.

Fink is not set up to build manually downloaded packages. If there's a 
package that you want in Fink and it's not available for your specific 
OS version, the best solution is to contact the maintainer, whom I've 
CC'd to this message, and ask him or her about adding the package to 
your distribution.  You can also carbon copy one of the fink lists in 
case you don't hear a direct response back from the maintainer.

Christian, I was able to get nicotine to work on 10.7 by updating all 
the python dependencies to python2.7.  Can I add it with these changes 
to the 10.7 distribution?

m: 10.7 doesn't have a binary distribution channel, so apt-get will not 
really accomplish anything.  For 10.7, you want 'fink install <PKG>'. 
This will automatically download and build the sources for whatever you 
asked (that is available for your distribution).
