1 for sudo seems right.   The password is the one for the account you are 
logged into,
to allow fink to issue administrative (superuser) commands.   I don't 
understand what you mean
by the terminal "freezing", you will see nothing while you type the passwords 
(for security), when you
hit return, fink should either start its work or you should get an error.....
