A little caution is fine. For this particular issue, everything in the instructions is current, and unlikely to change in the near future, so if it happens again you know what to do. This was an item that does indeed render Fink almost unusable--package operations become impossible. It doesn't happen under normal circumstances--it takes actively killing the build process, the terminal application shutting down, or the machine shutting down, etc. to show up. As David said, all of those output lines are generated so that you can see what's going on--potentially useful data rather than garbage. If everything goes well, we won't need to see the output and you can just close the terminal window when it's done. - -- Alexander Hansen, Ph.D. Fink User Liaison http://finkakh.wordpress.com/ -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (Darwin) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAk8u02UACgkQB8UpO3rKjQ8izQCfewpmwqtgKhcvzdMJP1dROSFv bGoAoKPLmJA0OLj7Erit/0M8a0pzMlwP =YQF3 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Try before you buy = See our experts in action!
