Typically that's fine. You can answer the questions again by running:

fink configure

The one that occurs to me is activating the "unstable" tree which is 
where most of the actively-developed apps are found.

You'll also want to set your default fink selfupdate mode to rsync with 
the command:

fink selfupdate-rsync

Afterwards, running

fink selfupdate

Will default to -rsync mode which is what you'll want in the long run.
