Perhaps I'm still missing something, because my results with "fink" are:

leonards-imac:~ leonardwilliams$ fink install ghostscript
Password:
Information about 312 packages read in 1 seconds.
Failed: no package found for specification 'ghostscript'!
leonards-imac:~ leonardwilliams$ fink install gv
Information about 312 packages read in 0 seconds.
Failed: no package found for specification 'gv'!
leonards-imac:~ leonardwilliams$

But both these packages are listed at fink!  Do I need to specify a
package group (such as "text")?
