First time using Fink here, and my knowledge of computers is still limited. I
learned how to export paths two days ago. That being said, any help that is put
as simply as possible (right down to "when you see that, type EXACTLY this")
would be great.

I'm trying to compile gmsh using fink on a Mac OS X 10.6.8. Below is the error
message (I hope - there were several lines with the word "warning" throughout
the process. If I need to include more, I have a saved text file of the entire
session):

Before reporting any errors, please run "fink selfupdate" and try again.

If you continue to have issues, please check to see if the FAQ on Fink's
website solves the problem.  If not, ask on one (not both, please) of
these mailing lists:

    The Fink Users List <fink-us...@lists.sourceforge.net>
    The Fink Beginners List <fink-beginners@lists.sourceforge.net>,

with a carbon copy to the maintainer:

    Alexander Hansen <alexkhan...@users.sourceforge.net>

Note that this is preferable to emailing just the maintainer directly,
since most fink package maintainers do not have access to all possible
hardware and software configurations.

Please try to include the complete error message in your report.  This
generally consists of a compiler line starting with e.g. "gcc" or "g++"
followed by the actual error output from the compiler.

Also include the following system information:
Package manager version: 0.34.0
Distribution version: selfupdate-rsync Fri Jul 20 20:23:18 2012, 10.6, i386
Trees: local/main stable/main unstable/main
Xcode.app: 3.2.6
Xcode command-line tools: 3.2.6
