I am having trouble installing gtk+2 on my 10.6 machine with stock X11 2.3.6 and Xcode 3.2.6. I saw the recent discussions on another failed gtk+2 installation, but am not sure they are related.
Below is where the error that pops up: libtool: compile: gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I.. -DG_LOG_DOMAIN=\"Gtk\" -DGTK_LIBDIR=\"/sw/lib\" -DGTK_DATADIR=\"/sw/share\" -DGTK_DATA_PREFIX=\"/sw\" -DGTK_SYSCONFDIR=\"/sw/etc\" -DGTK_VERSION=\"2.18.9\" -DGTK_BINARY_VERSION=\"2.10.0\" -DGTK_HOST=\"i386-apple-darwin10.8.0\" -DGTK_COMPILATION -DGTK_PRINT_BACKENDS=\"file,cups\" "-DGTK_PRINT_PREVIEW_COMMAND=\"evince --unlink-tempfile --preview --print-settings %s %f\"" -I.. -I../gtk -I.. -I../gdk -I../gdk -I../gdk-pixbuf -I../gdk-pixbuf -DGDK_DISABLE_DEPRECATED -DGTK_DISABLE_DEPRECATED -DGTK_FILE_SYSTEM_ENABLE_UNSUPPORTED -DGTK_PRINT_BACKEND_ENABLE_UNSUPPORTED -DG_DISABLE_CAST_CHECKS -DDISABLE_VISIBILITY -I/sw/include/glib-2.0 -I/sw/lib/glib-2.0/include -I/sw/include -I/sw/include/pango-1.0 -I/sw/include/cairo -I/sw/include/freetype2 -I/sw/include/atk-1.0 -I/usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/X11/include -DX_LOCALE -I/sw/lib/fontconfig2/include -D_IPP_PRIVATE_STRUCTURES=1 -I/sw/include -DG_DISABLE_SINGLE_INCLUDES -DATK_DISABLE_SINGLE_INCLUDES -DGDK_PIXBUF_DISABLE_SINGLE_INCLUDES -DGTK_DISABLE_SINGLE_INCLUDES -I/usr/X11/include -DGDK_PIXBUF_DISABLE_DEPRECATED -Os -Wall -MT gtkimmulticontext.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/gtkimmulticontext.Tpo -c gtkimmulticontext.c -fno-common -DPIC -o .libs/gtkimmulticontext.o In file included from /sw/include/glib-2.0/glib/gi18n-lib.h:25, from gtkintl.h:4, from gtkimmulticontext.c:33: /sw/include/libintl.h:440: error: expected '=', ',', ';', 'asm' or '__attribute__' before 'libintl_newlocale' make[4]: *** [gtkimmulticontext.lo] Error 1 make[3]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[2]: *** [all] Error 2 make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make: *** [all] Error 2 ### execution of /tmp/fink.9r2dt failed, exit code 2 ### execution of /tmp/fink.4TXe1 failed, exit code 2 Removing runtime build-lock...
