Hello, I'm a newcommer to fink, and wanted to install good old xfig on macosx 10.7. I downloaded Xcode 4.4.1 and the command line tools for Lion.
I installed xfig itself successfully after initial failure using this tip: http://www.mail-archive.com/fink-users@lists.sourceforge.net/msg36944.html i.e. I modified file /sw/fink/10.7/stable/main/finkinfo/graphics/xfig.info then xfig compiled fine and now runs. I installed transfig-graphicx to have fig2dev and be able to export .fig files (to eps etc) : The following package will be installed or updated: transfig-graphicx Reading buildlock packages... /sw/bin/dpkg-lockwait -i /sw/fink/dists/stable/main/binary-darwin-x86_64/graphics/transfig-graphicx_3.2.5-1010_darwin-x86_64.deb Sélection du paquet transfig-graphicx précédemment désélectionné. (Lecture de la base de données... 6068 fichiers et répertoires déjà installés.) Dépaquetage de transfig-graphicx (à partir de .../transfig-graphicx_3.2.5-1010_darwin-x86_64.deb) ... Paramétrage de transfig-graphicx (3.2.5-1010) ... Then /sw/bin contains transfig but *not* fig2dev :-( I've seen people mentioning the same problem here: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=27809775 but it's from 2011 and seems to heve been fixed, while it's not fixed for me. If I understand what's going on, a precompiled .deb package that misses fig2dev is used but I can't seem to be able to build from source with fink, it's always the .deb that gets re-installed: > fink --no-use-binary-dist install transfig-graphicx Information about 6163 packages read in 1 seconds.
