You have a status file which is inconsistent, and that prevents all 
other package  operations.

Edit /sw/var/lib/dpkg/status as an administrator, such as by using "sudo 
nano /sw/var/lib/dpkg/status", go near line 3406 and change the entry 
for fink-buildlock-libiconv-1.12-6 to look like

Package: fink-buildlock-libiconv-1.12-6
Status: purge ok not-installed
Section: unknown
Architecture: darwin-x86_64
