I had the same error with libpng16 installed and installing libpng15 cleared it right up. That's why I suggested it. :-) /sw/lib/libpng16.dylib shouldn't even be present if libpng15 is installed instead of libpng16. Perhaps something else reinstalled it. Anyway, it turns out that libpng is only used for an example which doesn't even get installed.
