No, that's definitely not the expected behavior.

There's not that much to troubleshoot, either, because what is supposed 
to happen here is that some small text files get scanned and their data 
is cached.  My recollection is that we've seen a few reports of similar 
behavior in the past, but it was never a reproducible problem.

I'd recommend stopping the operation with Control-C, remove the /sw 
directory via e.g. "sudo rm -rf /sw" and try the bootstrap again.
