Save the mpb.info file you downloaded via Alexander's instructions to 
/sw/fink/dists/local/main/finkinfo on your computer.  This will let your 
Fink installation see it and allow you to then install mpb.  Once you 
have saved the file there, try the command 'fink install mpb' from 
Terminal.app.

For 'meep', the executable should be in /sw/bin/meep.  Running just 
'meep' from the Terminal should find it, unless your Fink PATH has not 
been added to your default settings.  You can verify if Terminal knows 
about Fink by running the command 'printenv PATH'.  In the output, 
'/sw/bin:/sw/sbin' should be at or very near the front.  If it's not 
there, run the script '/sw/bin/pathsetup.sh' and follow the directions. 
  New terminal windows that you open after that should know about Fink.
